Team V Southampton (Carroll back)
Any sign of Lanzini, Sakho or Carroll making the bench?

Could finish the Season with a full Squad

Adrian
Tomkins Reid Ogbonna Cresswell
Noble Song Kouyate
Antonio Payet
Valencia

Unchanged from last night, although I'd be half tempted to stick Obiang in ahead of Song.

Re: Team V Southampton
It's funny how Song made two entirely different impressions last night. I've been a big critic since last Christmas but thought he played some good stuff last night, especially in quickening the pace of touches in the second half.

I thought last night's lineup was too defensive at home against the bottom team, even when they had eleven, but would be fine for Southampton away.

Ogbonna was ill last night but should be available for Saturday and so is Andy Carroll.

Lanzini and Sakho due back next week, the 13th.

We are going to have some serious fire power!

Slav's gonna have a right nightmare trying to pick the side once we start getting some players back from injury! Only change I'd make for this game would be Byram in at right back.

When are some of our posters going to accept that, for the time being, James Collins is one of our two first choice centre-backs? He's won the shirt - somebody will have to up their game and take it off him.

Obiang in for Song.
Once again Ginge proves his place, can't be dropped.

Re: Team V Southampton
Don't want to see Payet on the wing for this one. He is much more effective playing centrally. Sure we will see that more often when Lanzini is back! Thought Song and Noble had very good games so will be hard for Bilic to change much.

Re: Team V Southampton
Noble seems to play better alongside Song , so i'd keep him in -

Because he's not, Ogbonna and Tomkins are better options. Reid is our best central defender.
Collins again showed his shortcomings, playing against 10 men he again got caught out and did his customary foul and yellow card.Against the quicker, better Southampton players he will be a liability.
Ogbonna back in for him.

You don't seem to have read my post correctly. First-choice is not necessarily the same as 'better'.

Re: Team V Southampton
From last nights team:
Byram for Tomkins
Ogbonna for Collins
Obiang for Song

And maybe Carroll for Valencia if he is fit

Re: Team V Southampton
Don't like to change winning teams, though I would have Byram in for Tomkins if he's fit.

Ginge has been outstanding and deserves his place at the moment.

Can see the Song argument (I like Obiang), but as the most defensive midfielder, he was on a bit of a loser last night as soon as they went down to 10 men, so wouldn't judge him too harshly.

Lovely having all these options though :o)

That's it.

Re: Team V Southampton
Collins was better than Reid last night, so not sure on what basis Collins would be dropped.
